In Memory of

John C Stanley

1937 - 2017

To the Tri-Dim Family:

I am deeply saddened to inform you that our CEO and Founder John C Stanley passed away Friday evening, February 17, 2017. He died peacefully, surrounded by Sandra, his wife of 58 years, along with his three children Sharon, Gretchen, John Jr, and their spouses.

For those of you who knew John personally you know that first and foremost he was a man of deep faith, spiritual conviction and integrity, and that’s the foundation that Tri-Dim Filter is built on. Throughout his life he served on numerous Christian ministry boards, supporting missionaries around the world, and always felt very blessed by what the company was able to achieve. He never took any personal credit for the company’s success and always wanted to be sure that all the credit and all the Glory went to God.

Having started Tri-Dim Filter in 1968, while he was only 31 years old, he was a true entrepreneur. He was the pioneer in designing air filters utilizing synthetic materials and adopted the “Value-in-Use” principle, which has been the Tri-Dim philosophy for almost 50 years now. John was known throughout the world as one of the giants in the air filtration industry.

Although we will miss him dearly, we are committed to continuing the values and traditions that have made Tri-Dim Filter Corporation the single largest privately held air filtration company in North America.

The family appreciates your prayers and thoughts during this very difficult time and would ask that you consider a donation in John’s memory to Touch the World, a Christian ministry that equips youth to live out their faith through local and global missions. This ministry was very close to John’s heart and he served as their Board Chair for the past 10 years.

In closing I want to personally thank everyone in the Tri-Dim Family for your efforts and contributions throughout the years, and to let you know that we really appreciate you.

On behalf of the Stanley Family,

Darren L Hernandez

POTSDAM, N.Y.—A team of researchers is examining a possible link between reported ghost sightings and indoor air quality. They say mold can trigger visual and auditory hallucinations. It is known that some fungi, such as rye ergot fungus, may cause psychosis in humans. "Hauntings are very widely reported phenomena that are not well-researched," said Clarkson University associate professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering Shane Rogers. "They are often reported in older-built structures that may also suffer poor air quality. Similarly, some people have reported depression, anxiety, and other effects from exposure to biological pollutants in indoor air. We are trying to determine whether some reported hauntings may be linked to specific pollutants found in indoor air." Rogers' team of undergraduate students plan to measure air quality in several reportedly haunted locations in upstate New York.  Read more
